Properties

Orange peel oil is rich in vitamin C, helps fight signs of aging like wrinkles and dark spots. Its high vitamin C content promotes collagen synthesis and skin regeneration. If you struggle with oily skin, orange oil can help regulate sebum production and minimize excess oil. The vitamin C in orange oil brightens the skin, reducing hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Orange oil enhances blood flow to the skin, promoting a healthy complexion. Regular use of orange oil can help minimize the appearance of large pores.

What is Orange peel Oil?

It's an essential oil that's extracted from the rind or zest of the sweet orange, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis. Unlike the juicy pulp, which is mostly water and sugar, the peel is packed with tiny oil glands. When these glands are ruptured, they release a highly aromatic and volatile liquid – that's our orange peel oil.

The vast majority of this oil (typically over 90%) is made up of a compound called d-limonene. This is a monoterpene, and it's almost entirely responsible for that characteristic bright, citrusy, and uplifting scent that we all associate with sweet oranges. Orange peel oil also contains smaller amounts of other important compounds that contribute to its aroma and various properties, including Myrcene, Alpha-pinene, Citronellal, Linalool, Geranial, Neral and trace amounts of Furanocoumarins.

It has antiseptic and mild anti-inflammatory properties that can be beneficial. It's sometimes used in very low concentrations in products for acne-prone skin or to promote a healthy scalp.

What does Orange peel Oil do to your skin?

It helps protect the skin from environmental damage, soothes irritation and redness, and contributes to a brighter, more even-toned complexion.
